BlueSkies Highlighted Products for WooCommerce

What it does

BlueSkies Highlighted Products for WooCommerce lets store owners choose default highlighted products and optionally override them per post. Output is rendered via the [bshp_highlighted_products] shortcode, so it can be placed in widget areas or anywhere else where shortcodes are processed.

Display hand-picked highlighted products (e.g., in your sidebar) to redirect SEO traffic into sales; not WooCommerce’s automatic “related products.” You control what appears.

How to install

Install the zip via Plugins → Upload Plugin → Select the zip → Install Now.
Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress.
Go to WooCommerce → Highlighted Products Widget, configure products, and save.
Add [bshp_highlighted_products] to a widget area or page content.

Hardcoded product IDs:

Without ids, the shortcode uses per-post overrides when set, otherwise your global defaults. Hidden or invalid products are skipped automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Does this collect visitor or customer emails?

No. The plugin does not collect, store, or transmit data from your store visitors or customers.

What data is sent, and when?

Only if a site administrator explicitly opts in (by checking the consent box and submitting their email) may the plugin send that administrator’s email address and site URL to the plugin developer via a secure HTTPS request. Opt-in may be offered on a first-visit welcome screen, on the plugin settings page (optional “Stay in the loop” step), or in an occasional reminder after saving settings if you have not opted in before. Nothing is sent without the plugin user's explicit consent. The plugin does not send any emails from your WordPress site.

Can I use the plugin without opting in?

Yes. You can skip email collection and use all plugin features regardless, including product selection, the shortcode, and per-post overrides.

What if a product becomes private?

Products that are not visible in your WooCommerce catalog are skipped automatically when the shortcode renders.

This plugin may offer site administrators an optional way to receive plugin updates and related news from BlueSkies Digital. Participation is never required to use the plugin and is completely optional.

What we collect (only with your explicit consent)

If you check the consent box and submit your email, the plugin may send your email address (as entered by you, or prefilled from your WordPress user account), your site URL, and plugin identifier and version (for compatibility notices).

When collection can happen

A one-time welcome overlay the first time you open WooCommerce → Highlighted Products Widget (you may continue without email)
An optional “Stay in the loop” step on the settings page when saving configuration
An occasional reminder dialog if you save settings again after at least seven days without having opted in previously (you may dismiss it without subscribing)

How data is sent

Data is transmitted only after you opt in, using an HTTPS POST request to the plugin developer's server. The plugin does not send email from your server. No data is sent to third parties other than the plugin developer’s server for the legitimate purpose described above.

What we do not collect

Store visitor or customer emails, orders, or browsing behavior
Analytics or tracking pixels on the front end of your site
Anything else not already explicitly mentioned in this privacy policy

Storage on your site

If you opt in, your consent choice and email may be stored in the WordPress options table on your site so the plugin does not ask again unnecessarily. You can remove this by uninstalling the plugin.
